Scottish Private Residential Tenancy (SPRT)

As of the 1st of December 2017 any new leases will be replaced by the new Scottish Private Residential Tenancy, (SPRT). The changes are to deliver improved security of tenure for tenants, as well as streamlined procedures for rent rises and starting and ending a tenancy.

There is no need for landlords to do anything for ongoing leases, however, when the tenancy comes to an end and a new tenant is sought this will have to be a new private tenancy agreement.

J & G Wilson will no longer be dealing with leased properties going forward but will be concentrating our efforts in the residential sales market.
